When the weather warms up, you can place this versatile live succulent on your patio or porch. If you dwell in a place where frost is not a concern, Aloe vera can live and thrive outside year-round. Its always a treat to see (or hear) hummingbirds make a beeline for the yummy yellow flowers on tall spikes.
When not treating hummingbirds, Aloe vera can be used to soothe minor cuts, scrapes, and sunburns. To use, cut outer skin away from a leaf and rub sap onto affected areas. Grows to 24 inches high and 18 inches wide.
Plant in well-draining soil. Water thoroughly when soil is dry. Provide bright light.
Flowers winter to summer. Hardy to Zone 10/32 degrees F.
